How to take Care of a Baby?

For Young Mothers Dealing With Newborn Babies:

Caring for a newborn baby is not an easy task. The incessant crying of children, sudden weight loss, continuous diarrhea, continuous vomiting, regurgitation without drinking milk... Children who face such problems grow up leaving themselves and those around them in a cycle.

Homes with pre-born babies are always in a state of flux. After handing over the child, they will take responsibility for the midwife's duty. But now standing, walking, and eating are all doctors' advice, so both young mothers in joint families and young mothers in single families are getting stuck.

The overwhelming love young parents show to their children can sometimes lead to anxiety and fear without being resourceful. So babies get scared if they sleep for a long time or cry normally.

    Baby Care Tips:

    Change in baby's body weight:

A newborn's weight may drop by up to ten percent within the next week. No need to be afraid of that. But the weight may increase significantly in the coming days. Then the gram can be increased every day.

Exercise can and should start early. Get your baby on the floor then do tummy time and encourage movement. Get down on the floor with them. Make safe places for them to crawl and learn to walk and run which not only helps babies get to and stay at a healthy weight.

    Baby's Umbilical Cord:

A clip is attached near the umbilical cord of the newborn. In 15 days the umbilical cord dries up and falls off. Until then, it is better to avoid any germs in the navel area.

Make sure your baby's stump dries properly after bathing. Clean your hands thoroughly before handling the cord stump. Avoid touching it whenever possible.

    Breastfeeding your Newborns:

Every baby is different. Your baby's feeds will depend on your baby’s needs. As babies grow, their bellies also grow. Your baby will gradually increase to drink more breast milk at each feeding. On average babies will feed about every 2 to 4 hours. Or may they have a longer sleep interval of 4 to 5 hours.

    Vitamin D for Newborns:

Keep the baby exposed to the sun for a while in the early morning sun. This allows the baby's eyes to fully open and vitamin D is available. Even today it is customary to expose the newborn baby to the sunlight in the home where the elders are present. Doctors also advise this.

    Baby care tips

With the right supplementation, is vital for babies give the necessary nutrients to stay strong and healthy as a deficiency may cause a disease that softens and weakens the bones.

    Child Health:

It is healthy for the baby to drink milk frequently and urinate with the hand. But it is better to change the cloth immediately after the baby urinates. Use only cotton fabrics as much as possible. It is good to clean your hands while giving milk to the baby and while holding the baby.

The use of diapers should be avoided to reduce the child's natural condition. Our forefathers used to make triangular looms out of cotton cloth and tie a ribbon on them. The child should clean the genital area with a cotton cloth moistened with lukewarm water and another loincloth should be tied. Germs present in the moisture of diapers can affect the genitals and cause rashes on the baby's thighs.

A common reason for diaper rash is that the baby's urine or stool stayed too long on her skin. Consult your baby’s healthcare provider if your baby has a red rash in the diaper area that appears swollen.

    Constipation in baby:

After drinking milk, the baby passes urine/feces shortly after. Green or black stool, in the beginning, is nothing to worry about. Eventually, it will begin to turn yellow. These are normal.

    Breastfed babies

It’s rare for breastfed babies to be constipated. Constipated breastfed babies might need more breastmilk. If your breastfed baby seems constipated, try feeding more times.

    Formula-fed babies

Formula-fed babies may be constipated if that formula is not made up correctly and doesn't have enough water.
If that happens, before bathing the child, parents will train the child's legs like riding a bicycle. Due to this, the firmness of the stool is avoided and the stool comes out loosely.

    Baby Sleep:

Baby sleeps longer. Babies' sleep varies depending on their age. Newborns do sleep much of the time.

Pediatricians say that children who sleep up to 18 hours a day are healthy. Even when awake the eyes keep blinking without opening them completely. That is why adults tickle the soles of children even when they are sleeping and make them drink milk.

    A baby's cry:

The baby keeps crying. It can often be interpreted as a cry for hunger. The mother has to feed the baby at the right time because the baby who drinks milk every two hours will urinate in the next ten minutes.

If the baby continues to cry, keep the baby in your hand and observe whether the baby is bitten by ants. The rug that the baby was on should also be cleaned.

    Bathing a Baby:

Newborns don't need a bath every day. The newborn baby rarely sweats or gets dirty enough to need a full bath that often. It is better to bathe the baby in moderate heat. You can massage the baby's skin with chemical-free cream and coconut or olive oil. Bath with organic products as much as possible without using soaps.
After bathing, wrap your baby in a clean towel for warmth. If the baby's skin is dry after bathing, apply a fragrance-free moisturizer.

    Baby's skin:

A baby's skin is smoother than leather. A red rash will start to appear on the baby's skin if it is slightly pressed and lifted. Some children will also have peeling skin. All these are natural.
